Artist Bio:
Growing up, Paul was your typical, jaded, apathetic teen who could care less about the importance of Church, but ate up everything MTV had to offer. After hitting a point in his life during college where he felt empty, discouraged, and depressed after binging on everything the college party scene had to offer, he came to experience the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. This experience inspired him to become a missionary for a few years in New York City, working with at-risk youth in the South Bronx. His diverse experiences in life, along with his education in Theology, Philosophy (B.A. | Franciscan Univ. of Steubenville) and in Marriage and Family Therapy (M.A. | Hope International Univ. of Fullerton) equip him with the ability to understand the issues that people face every day, and connect with any audience.
Utilizing his talents of speaking and comedy, he breaks down reservations immediately by interacting with the youth; entertaining them and building rapport. He follows by inspiring audiences with a powerful message of God’s love and His ability to transform any life, no matter what the circumstances.
Aside from his speaking ability, Paul’s musical talent stands on its own. What sets his music and live performances apart are his vocal abilities: beatboxing (vocal drumming), harmonies, and lyrics. He gives new meaning to the term: “one-man-band”. Using a loop machine on stage that allows him to produce live multi-track vocal instrumentals, he performs original songs and covers; effortlessly moving from one genre to another (acoustic, hip-hop, spoken word). Though his music has mainstream appeal, his lyrics convey a deep message that has captivated audiences of all ages. Paul recently released a short-length music album entitled “Run Fly Fall” (available now on iTunes & Amazon), and the videos he has been featured in on YouTube have accumulated nearly ONE MILLION views. It's been a mild winter for those of us who have homes. But for many on the streets, it's a tough time of year. We will be doing street outreach bringing lots of clothes and some food to our homeless neighbors in Newark. As always, we'll begin with prayer, and will have dinner celebrating God's love.
For those who would like to join us, we will take a road trip to Catholic Underground, Somerville after dinner. And for any interested in learning more and experiencing community life, you are welcome to stay over night.
